1. When is the last time you remember being in a terrible storm? How is one lesson you had to learn the hard way?

Explore it:

1. Read verses 45-47. When did Jesus make his disciples go on ahead of him? How did Jesus and the disciples get separated? What did Jesus do while he was alone? (46-47: Jn. 6:15)

2. Read verses 48-50a. What problem were the disciples having? (48) How did the disciples react when they saw Jesus walk on water? (49-50a)

3. Read verses 50b-52. How did Jesus reveal himself to his disciples? (50b) How can Christ calm our fears or help us when we are afraid? Why were the disciples “completely amazed”? (51-52) What did the disciples fail to see in Jesus, walking on water? (Ex. 3:14)

4. Read verses 53-56. Where did Jesus and his disciples finally land? (53) What did Jesus do after he and his disciples had crossed over the lake? (54-56)
